Definitely worth the 3:30 AM wakeup call. Trekked over to the side entrance to Borobudur Temple, the largest Buddhist monument in the world, and sat in complete darkness (enveloped only by the 4 AM prayer call) until the sun began to rise behind Mt. Merapi, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The whole experience was one of the singular most religious experiences of my life...and I'm not religious.
